When I recently introduced myself here I said that I live a bookish life! I wasn’t exaggerating!
I recommend books on my podcast.
What do I mean I make books?
I was recently inspired by some old vellum aerospace engineering papers that my husband brought home from work and wondered how I could use them in my art practice. Yes, I can college with them and paint on them, but I wondered, how could I make a sustainable crafting practice that would appeal to creatives?
The upcycled journal for creatives was born.
I reached out to a few friends who have an abundance of paper in their lives (who doesn’t?) and they were eager to contribute. My papers currently come from an architect, a textile designer, an aerospace engineering company, an interior designer and a teacher.
For journal covers, I landed on reusing some books that were just laying around. I keep all of the book pages for other printing and collage work. Over the next few months, I’ll feature some of my paper contributors! (If you’re local and have interesting papers you want to contribute to the project, please reach out! I’ll give you a free journal in return!)
So check out my store! Each book is unique and I do a video flip through of each one. I am also open to commissions, so you get exactly what you want paper / color / size wise.
I will be adding new books in August.
