I’m very book positive on my podcast and only share books that I really like or love, but it doesn’t mean I love every book I read. This month, I’m sharing the hits as well as the misses below!

I have nine books to share today:

#1 Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins - This is the prequel to The Hunger Games that focuses on Haymitch Abernathy and how he ended up a participant in the games. A ton of tension and high stakes. I enjoyed learning about Haymitch’s backstory which explains why he is the way he is in The Hunger Games Trilogy. Lots of Easter eggs throughout the book for superfans. I think there were too many mockingjays in my ear telling me how amazing this book was, so I set my expectations too high. It just took SO long to get to the games!

verdict: Maybe - If you’re already a Hunger Games fan, you’ll enjoy this book. Just don’t expect perfection.
